First off, thank you for taking the time to stop by and read this! I am so glad to have my website up and running, so I figured I would introduce myself a little bit better!
I am from Washington State and just recently moved to New Mexico. I love capturing people and showing who they are in photographs. I love to laugh, I do it seriously all the time haha. I love all dogs (but I love my black lab Lucy the most), if I see a dog in public I will pet it and my day will be made from there on out. I am an absolute foodie, when I travel, the part I am most excited about is what new food I can try! I am an absolute giver. I love the holidays because I get to think up gifts and see the reaction on the faces of the recipient. I love the mountains, there is just so much beauty in a mountain range and I hope to go and visit all the big mountain ranges (if anyone wants a mountain photo session, I AM THERE!!). And I am a photographer, a label has never felt more true than that one.
Ever since I was young, my Mom has always taken pictures at every family event and gathering. Now when you are a kid, you just want the picture taking to be over with to get back to the fun. You smile real quick in hopes you can get back to what you were doing. And as any other kid at the time I thought it was annoying but as I am older and I am able to look back I am so thankful that I have those memories. So yes, Mom...thank you for putting up with the sighs and grunts and continuing to capture those memories. For continuing to realize that what is important is to be able to keep those moments for us to have forever. Because of your thoughtfulness, I am able to go back in time and remember moments....and people, that are no longer there. Without me knowing at the time, this is one of the reasons I became a photographer.
I remember when I was in Junior High School and realizing what selfies were (looking back it's painfully awkward now haha). During this time, I also realized my Dads nice digital camera. Thankfully instead of taking pictures of myself, I experimented with what I saw around me. I didn't think anything of it and just was having fun. It wasn't until my Dad used the camera again and took a look at my photos. I will never forget when he told me how they looked good and how I have an eye. It meant more than I could tell you. So Dad, thank you for giving me that nudge to keep on experimenting. To keep trying in things I wasn't confident in. For always providing me with what I needed to try new things. Thank you for always pushing me in all I did in life. Without you, I would not be where I am today. Without me knowing at the time, this is one of the reasons I became a photographer.
I have always aspired to be a photographer and I am here now because of the love and support I have received. I am a photographer because of the support I received not only from my parents...but my family and friends. So if you are reading this, you know who you are....THANK YOU! Thank you Grandma Barb, for pointing out all the things you enjoy when looking at my photos and for being my #1 fan, every shoot I go to, I tell myself to be the photographer that you see me as. Thank you to my sisters, Brittany and Katie, who let me use them as models without blinking an eye and telling me I can do this. Thank you to my Grandma Anita and Grandpa Roy, who no matter what always think of me in any situation, who promote me and give me new opportunities to grow. Thank you to my soon to be Brother-In-Law, Jonah, you pushed me and showed me that I can do this and supported me when I couldn't support and believe in myself. Thank you to the rest of my family, who push me and let me exercise my passion and use me to take your photos. Thank you to my best friend Annie (who also just so happens to be an amazing photographer: Annie Ritter-Jones Photography), you have pushed me and lifted me up time after time, I would not be the photographer I am without you. I am me...because of all of you. I will never be able to thank you all enough for that.
